Doxologies and Calls to Worship

OPENING DOXOLOGIES
(1) Every blessing: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. (Eph 1:3-4)
(2) Adoption and grace: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for in love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. (Eph 1:5-6)
(3) Redemption and the cross: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for in him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known] to us the mystery of his will. (Eph 1:7-9)
(4) The gospel and the Spirit: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for in him, when we heard the word of truth, the gospel of our salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. (Eph 1:13-14)
(5) Resurrection: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for us, who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (1 Peter 1:3-5)
 (6) Salvation: Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. (1 Peter 1:8-9)
(7) Messiah and prophets: Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David, as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old, that we should be saved from our enemies and from the hand of all who hate us. (Lk 1:68-71)
(8) Covenant and Abraham: Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has shown his mercy promised to our fathers and remembered his holy covenant, the oath that he swore to our father Abraham, to grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before him all our days. (Lk 1:72-75)
(9) Salvation and death: Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for he has granted the knowledge of salvation to his people in the forgiveness of their sins, because of his tender mercy, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. (Lk 1:77-79)
(10) Mighty God: Our souls magnify you O Lord, our spirits rejoice in you our God and Saviour, for you are mighty and have done great things for us. Holy is his name. (Lk 1:46, 49)
(11) Mercy to families: Our souls magnify you O Lord, our spirits rejoice in you our God and Saviour, for your mercy is for those who fear you from generation to generation. (Lk 1:50)
(12) The proud and humble: Our souls magnify you O Lord, our spirits rejoice in you our God and Saviour, for you have shown strength with your arm; you have scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts; you have brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate; you have filled the hungry with good things, and the rich you have sent away empty. (Lk 1:51-53)
(13) Israel and Abraham: Our souls magnify you O Lord, our spirits rejoice in you our God and Saviour, for you have helped your servant Israel, in remembrance of your mercy, as you spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his offspring forever. (Lk 1:54-55)
(14) Glory to God: Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning is now and shall be for ever. Amen. ('Gloria Patri' - said or sung since at least the 6th century) 
REVELATION PRAISE
(1) God: Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come! (Rev 4:8)
(2) God as creator: Worthy are you our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you brought this day into being, and by your will all things existed and were  created. (Rev 4:11)
(3) Christ’s death: Worthy are you, O Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing. For by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. And you have made us a kingdom and priests to our God, and we shall reign on the earth. (Rev 5:9-10)
(4) Father and Son: To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb, be blessing and honour and glory and power, for ever and ever! Amen. (Rev 5:13-14)
(5) Salvation through Father and Son: Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb! And so may blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to you forever  and  ever!  Amen. (Revelation 7:10-12)
(6) Fearing and worshipping God: Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations! Who will not fear you, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All nations will come and worship you, for your righteous acts have been revealed. (Revelation 15:3-4)
(7) Rejoicing in marriage to Christ: Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear. (Revelation 19:6-8)

(2) God as powerful: Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth. Sing praise to the Lord! To him who rides the ancient skies above, who thunders with mighty voice. // Proclaim the power of God, whose majesty is over Israel. The God if Israel gives power and strength to his people. Praise the Lord! (from Ps 68:32-35)
(3) God’s character: Sing to the Lord a new song play skilfully and shout for joy. For the word of the Lord is right and true and all his work is faithfulness. (4) God as Creator: Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth; worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs: the Lord is God - it is he who made us and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. // Enter God’s gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his holy name; the Lord is good - his love endures for ever, his faithfulness through all generations. (5) God keeping covenant love: Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth; sing praises to the Lord. Sing to God, O kingdoms of the earth; proclaim his mighty power! Praise the Lord! // We stand up and praise you, Lord our God, for you are from everlasting to everlasting. Blessed be your glorious name, exalted above all honour and praise. // You alone are the Lord. You made all things. You give life to everything; and all heaven worships you. Because you are righteous, you never abandon your people; but keep your covenant of love. (from Neh 9v5-8)
(6) God as Creator and Saviour: Come let us sing for joy to the LORD; Let us should aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods. // Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before our Maker; for he is our God and we are the flock under his care. (from Ps 95:1-7)
(7) God as Judge: Let all the peoples praise you, O God; Let the nations be glad and sing for joy. For you judge the peoples with equity. And guide the nations upon the earth. (from Ps 67)
(8) God as our help: Our help is in the name of the Lord who made both heaven and earth. He is our Rock and we shall not be moved. (from Ps 124 and 62)
(9) Praise God for works: Praise the Lord, you servants of the Lord: Praise his name and exalt him for ever! His name be praised, now and forever: From the east to the west praise the name of the Lord! Sing to the Lord, all the world for the Lord is a mighty God. // Sing a new song to the Lord for he has done marvellous things. Proclaim his glory among the nations, and shout for joy to the Lord our King! (from Ps 98)
(10) A chosen people: We are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God: Let us declare God’s praises, who calls us out of darkness into his marvellous light! (from 1 Pet 2)
(11) Drawing near to God in penitence: Draw near to God and he will draw near to you; wash your hands and purify your heart: let us humble ourselves before the Lord, That he may lift us up. (from Jam 4)
(12) God’s help and cleansing: Cast your burden upon the Lord: and he will sustain you. // Create in us clean hearts, O God: and renew a right spirit within us. Cast us not away from your presence: and take not your Holy Spirit from us. Give us the joy of your saving help: and sustain us with your life-giving Spirit. // Blessed be the Lord day by day: the God of our salvation, who bears our burdens. (from Ps 51)
(13) Delighting in God’s word: Blessed is the one who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked. His delight is in the law of the LORD on it he meditates day and night. (from Ps 1)
(14) Trusting God: The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. (Ps 28:7)
(15) Gods’ grace: Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people; praise his holy name. For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favour lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. (Ps 30:4-5)
(16) God’s faithfulness: Your steadfast love O LORD never ceases, your mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “You LORD are my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in you."
You LORD are good to those who wait for you, to the soul that seeks you. It is good that I should wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD. (Lam 3:22-26)
(17) God’s character: O LORD God Almighty,
who is like you?
You are mighty and your faithfulness surrounds you.
The heavens are yours, and yours also the earth.
Your hand is strong, your right hand exalted.
Righteousness and justice are
the foundation of your throne;
love and faithfulness go before you.
I will acclaim you to others O LORD my God,
and walk in the light of your presence.

(18) God’s love: It is good to give thanks to you O Lord, and sing praises to your name, O Most High;
