Words of Institution before Communion

While eating the Passover meal the night before his death, ‘Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take and eat; this is my body given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper, he took the cup, gave thanks and gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father's kingdom. (Matt 26:26-29, Lk 2:15-20)
