For Families

Our generation is one in which people’s goals for marriage are often self-centred, and their ambitions for their children worldly. Yet the primary goal of marriage is to provide a family cell or team that will serve God in his world and raise the next generation to do likewise (Genesis 1:26-28).

The personal godliness of both husbands and wives is therefore paramount, as is their fulfilling their responsibility to instruct their children in the faith. Indeed, God’s purpose for them as parents is that they raise “Godly offspring” (Malachi 2:15).

Bearing all this in mind, it could be argued that learning to think and live Christianly as families is perhaps the most important task facing us as Christians today.
